If Airbus puts their delay problems of the A380 behind their back, this will surely be an amazing airplane, a double decker airplane!!!! folks watch the A380

Is it tru that the A380 is flopping by design?  The design predicted a market eager to carry more on larger planes when the current trend is more flights, faster speeds and saving energy?

Will the A380 ever get out at this rate? Aren't few airlines ordering it compared to the highly anticipated B787 which has a lot of orders in comparison by the time it will be released next year?

I think if everything is fixed, the A380 will kick off successfully, in a way you are right these days speed matters alot, but Airbus put this into consideration A380 almost has the same long distance cruising speed as the current largest operational passenger airplane B747, Just like when the Americans when they were developing the B747 in the 60s little did they know that the program could be successful so they made a gamble which paid off. The A380 has been delayed by minor mistakes which have been fixed and hopefully it will go into full operation before the end of this year. Altogether the A380 orders were not bad, so hopefully the Europeans in Airbus as time goes by will overcome the Americans in Boeing.

Guyz, my fear of flying not withstanding, I think the Boeing logic on time keeping  is better. It has been claimed that the A380 will be able 2 carry up to about 800 people. How long does this number of pipo take 2 check in on a flight departing from outside but terminating in the US? U know how the Americans r with their security + all others r getting in on the trick of making us queue 4 hrs in front of check in desks.

As 4 fuel consumption, I think the A380, if it always flies full, will be cheaper and kinder 2 the environment.  If it can carry almost twice as many pipo as the biggest Boeing can with 4 (albeit bigger) engines instead of 8, that is a better deal, pollution-wise. The A380 may need a lot of power taking off coz it is heavier but once it reaches cruising speed, the only energy it has 2 expend is in overcoming air resistance (which is not much higher than that a B747 meets).

Everybody wants 2 sit on top deck! I remember in high skool, 2 best friends fought over the front seat of the skool bus. When asked, one answered that he wanted 2 get to K'la be4 the rest of us (fellow passengers).

With the A380 officially in service, that marks the beginning of a new era in Aviation.

Competition always yields results, this is gonna lead to more research and development of modern, eco-friendly, efficient man made birds :-)

Uganda we need a flag bearer!!!!
