You can delay payments too by showing the registrar the quid and tell him, its all his.

If he dont believe you, tell him he just lost outon some good BBQ.

Sorry guys, noother way. Just do the old way and its will come to pass. Its once a year so no sweat. Lose some weight in the line too.

Lol Que  @ lose some weight - though I agree this method prolly works for the general person! Opening up accounts to do the electronic version of payment is at odds with your everyday person I think and indeed some persons cannot afford to sustain let alone have a bank account.

Khumalo - thanks for the fotos!

Don't direct debit arrangements sound like better alternatives? They are available in Uganda.

It seems  ug has more diplomats academics or whitecollar people than any other place in world. i am a photographer and i have collected and snapped so many people from east earth to westside ,northpole to southpole but no other people dress well and confidently touch in their waist or pockets like ug men. it seems  they got loads of cash.

Kumalho,

I went to Univeristy outside of UG and my freind every september(Autumn) this is what you see at Universities and Colleges and at Banks. Some wazungus go over nite with their sleeping bags. The first day people line up for approval of Student loans, Grants or Bursaries , cash fees, and that is if you are lucky to get it . If not you are told to come back the next day. If it is closing time , that is it.

Then other days is lining up at banks, then lining up at Bookstores to purchase text books. By the time you get into your first lecture  you feel so exhausted and tired. Guess what before the end of the term the money is no where to be seen and you have to kuyiiya(Plan). Kyeeyo option becomes another alternative. It is not worth it sometimes. You only celebrate when you get that piece of Paper on your graduation day. It is not easy either way regardless of Geographical location.I

I get nauseated when I see that line!!!!! finall I discovered that I could actually submit a draft to the University Busar and get a receipt immediately minus even queuing...!!!! The other alternative, which is a good option (though getting a draft is the VERY BEST) is to go to the other branches especially the main branch which is in the former UCB. The queues are not that bad and they move faster.
