This is the cave Mandela and other former inmates on Robben island dug to have their meals and use as a toilet especially in bad weather. It is located at the quarry where they used to break limestone.

Desperate times require desperate measures. Prisoners on Robben Island spent all day (rain or shine) digging up limestone in this quarry. Only allowed 2 sit down 4 their lunch. Why have that out in the open? So, they dug this cave 2 chill out in during their lunch hr. Guards never allowed them 2 attend calls of nature any where except the quarry (not even in the surrounding bushes). So, they made their potty in this cave too. Don't ask me about appetites @ lunch time...
