Hey, in times of trouble,
remember that East or West,
HOME IS BEST ---
at that time the clever ones
must have started to head home
via any safe route
--east or west, HOME IS BEST
This is what i always tell you ugandans, you don't know what you want. Oneday you talk about developments and jobs, at the same time you're on the streets demontrating against the project that will create employment for your brothers and sisters who are at the low ranks in the society. The public is being illuded by the so called environmentalists who are lured by the co2 credits from the western big companies to resist developments that matters. In Uk, all government policies that used to protect the green belts or the so called parks have been reversed to allow the construction of new homes is order to meet the social demand. In uganda, three quarters of the land is covered with forest, this portion of Mabira going to agood cause, I personally i dont see any harm in it. Anyone who reads this, should not under estimate the effects of being without a job. Unemployment leads to poor healthy, loss of confidence, poor housing, low life expectancy, just to mention a few. Anyone out on the streets demonstrating, i do support them for their democratic right but, they need a second thought.
Kaks
Thank you for the pictures
Robert do we have to destroy everything for development. Why can't they take the land the Kabaka has offered?
Robert, name 5 places in Uganda with forests/trees the size of Mabira. Also, is it the environmentalists who get the carbon credits or the gov'ts with forests? Research well be4 u answer coz I am an environmental engineer & I know a few things about this stuff.
Yup i approve.
Ask me what happened as i stopped @ da red lights in Wandegeya? Da policewoman nearly slapped da hell out of me dat 'am slowing traffic. wen asked 4 a D.licence, i produced a European one, this made thingz worse saying "u guyz have lugezigezi(wiseackers) bcause u drive abroad". She was pulling me over until i said 'am contacting the british high commission. She walked away kissing her teeth saying u r mukonogaamu(stingy)
Tell me about it. Something similar happened 2 me on X-mas day 2006 in Mengo on my way to Namirembe Cathedral. I have since learnt to hide my British driving licence.
