First of all - a big, big thank you finally for having taken the time to not only shop in direct support of the local market, but also getting to know a bit more of the issues on ground. Thank you for bringing us the photos to highlight that there are ways in which persons have been trying to better themselves...
Indeed it's a major concern as to what happens to such persons when they have to be swept under the carpet to make way for appeasing visiting dignatories...
The funny thing is that the government should realize that this is the kind of stuff these dignatories would love to see.
My family and I were in the same shopping centre in 1999 and I was amazed at the bargaining skills my youngest daughter had. Mind you she did not speak a word of luganda and she sounds so American. I think the crafts people appriciated the fact that she was buying. I was standing so far back and watching. She got some good stuff. Like finally said, you get good stuff, framing is another fortune. You have to make sure that if the art work is framed, it must be UV protected, that is what costs a lot of money.
