No. actually… I was standing on the pavement in the middle of the Road... Sunday morning and traffic wasn't that fast. I guess the fella crossing was the one in a rush... and the cars in the background are actually offloading people at a gas station (Total if you can take a close look.) not heading straight onto him.

    Re: Picture of the day

Thats the norm in Kla for crossing - everyone 4 himself. KCC do not think theres a need to provide crossing points on all roads and further still guide people to these safe spots. The main one is at the post office, yet the area this photo was taken is where most people are dropped off, but theres no safe crossing point!! Maybe they r right not to bother if no one is disturbed by weekly accident figures from the police.

Now, I need an explanation on how u managed 2 take this pic of a cargo plane at Entebbe. Obviously, u were standing on the runway (and not sitting in another plane) coz the camera was at the same height as that guy's head...

LOL. U got me on that 1.  I notice u took other pics on the tarmac. I am not sure about the 'security protocol' 2 be followed at EBB. I always hide my camera until I am in the plane...

Kaks - all I can go by is what is announced via the PA/tanoy whilst about to land at EBB that taking photographs is not allowed.  This was on the KLM flights however.  Other airlines I'm not too certain.

It would be helpful if clear signs or guidelines indicated what the official take is over taking fotographs at EBB however to minimise the disjointed information often by word of mouth and at times I suspect, dependant on the mood of the officials in security.

    Re: Picture of the day

I often take photos on tarmac.... I don't think its a big deal anymore..... its the ride on your way out of the airport where photography is not legal i think.Perhaps because their is some military activity at the old airport.  Other wise the photo for April 30 was taken by me on my way to board a BA flight.  I also took several employess of the staff there on tarmac.  I used to work at the airport so I know a few of them that still work their and remember me.

hmnn... now I'm wondering who this Nanteza is ...lolHmm

Anyway.... the Boston weather does that to you.

As for the army guy.... he did not know anything about simple digital cameras.... just showing him the camera was enough to confuse him into believing that no photo had been taken.

    Re: Picture of the day

I am sure that soldier felt so smart after his encounter with you i.e. he believed he had stopped any camera taking pics. These fellows at the dam are not as smart as they believe they r (for lack of a better description). Once on our way to Kamuli in 2006, one of them stopped us as we approached the bridge over the dam from Mbikko. He made it look like a rourine stop but he, along with a collegue who I suspect had completed a shift, actually wanted a lift to the army barracks about 1km away. When he realised the car was full up, he asked; "Why is the car full?"!
