Could it be that the changes brought about by the availability of home entertainment via DVDs and the likes of kinigeria have somewhat done away with the pull that theatres once had? It may also be down to a badly managed industry for arts which only looks towards hyped shows which follow a trend akeen to the fashion industry more or less.
Companies might perhaps offer theatre tickets as incentives to the general public as part of competition rewards.... Schools too can encourage outings to youngsters...
Ironically - over here, one pays through the nose to see such live performances!
