As a person who knows a thing or two about such units and have heard a few recent stories from regular air passengers, I doubt any airline can knowingly let u get into the cabin of an airliner with a fully charged UPS unit. However, most of these units, if not intentionally abused seem to be quite safe. The one owned by UG Pulse seems to be 1 of those giant reliable models. U certainly can't board a plane with that.
As 4 having them 4 check in luggage, my guess is as good as yours.
