I really wanted to find something a bit more personal, and this happened when my driver took me into an orphanage in Kampala.... Ann has now joined up with Ida Horner of Ethnic Supplies Ltd and together, they are organising the Gala Dinner and Auction on 17th October at the Hilton Hotel, Cobham.

A big thank you to Admin for sharing this, eye opening article! Many congratualtions to the author too.

Ann has certainly challenged us to pull our fingers out, if she as a 65 year old woman with limited resources

has achieved this much what is our excuse?

The other questions is will we as Ugandan's in the UK put their hands in their pockets and attend the event

or will we live to the Mzungu?

The lesson here really that you do not need an awful lot of money to address some of life's challenges

and on that note folks I am off to book my tickect to the eventWink

If it's going to be it's up to me

Thank you Admin, SB and Mrs. McCarthy for this story.  I hope all show up for the event and raise a lot of money for the program.

    Hello again,

This is just to update all readers on the results of our Auction and Dinner held to raise money for projects in Ruhanga Village SW Uganda.

Together with donations, a raffle and the auction we raised the magnificent sum of just over £1500 and thanks to everyone who supported us.

This will go a very long way to completing the craft centre/workshop that has already been started at Uganda Lodge, and very soon we will be able to start some training courses for various vocational skills.

    Thankyou again

Ann - Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work and perseverance in bringing the event together.  Ditto to all that were involved!
