I wish Kampala had more green spaces like this in the suburbs!

Couldn't agree with you more there Nanganda.  Perhaps when they are done building, they may import in some artificial turf...

but seriously, this is a great way forward.  Perhaps now persons might have a different venue landscape for their wedding photos as opposed to the Sheraton gardens...

I wish that there were more public parks to enjoy the day in.  A romantic place that allows couples to spend time togather, quiet for students to study and tourist a place to watch the birds and take in Uganda's natural beauty.  May be there could be a small entrance fee that would be paid at the entrance to help with maintaining the park would also help.  If a place like this existed, then I would gladly pay the entrance, expecially knowing that it was used to promote "The Pearl of Africa"

    Demur, -- you're straightway dangerous,
    And handled with a chain."

I have been to this park and I agree it is beautiful. However, I couldn't spot a single butterfly in this park. Why do I make butterflies a big deal? Well, I am an environmental engineer and I know that the absence of butterflies in a natural environment like this park is an indication of pollution in the area. Butterflies can't stand pollution.

The park is a good idea and I advise everybody to visit it. But if nothing is done about the increasing pollution in Kampala, the only good thing this park will be worth mentioning about will be the aesthetics. Let us not delude ourselves as far as our health is concerned.

@ Phat. that place exists my friend but you have to head to Kisubi.. I think it belongs to the men of the cloth.. Kisubi Seminary, it  a lovely park right at the lake, the fathers have a canteen that serves fish and beer but not Waragi?! don't ask me why, they are camping facilities too.

I needed time away from Kampala, somewhere quiet where I could sit and reflect following my father's death and my friends took me out there. If you have never been I highly recommend that you go when you are next in UG

If it's going to be it's up to me
