Ms Kataike said government officials who surrender their
cars are provided with alternative means of transport
like government buses and omnibuses which will pick
and drop them to and from their places of work.
"Those who can't use the buses will find their
own means," she said adding that the requirement
cuts across all government officials including the ministers
and state ministers whose vehicles will be taken.
"We don't see anyone refusing to hand in the cars
because these are not their cars but the government's,"
she said.
Ok. Am I missing a trick here? If these gov't officials can use gov't buses and public means 4 CHOGM, why can't they do so at other times? In otherwords, do they need the limousines at all?
