New Road to Peace in North Uganda?

There is need for the Top political leaders to show more political will and  speed up the reconciliation process of the war torn area of northern Uganda.

Its a very sad fact that although  the rest of Uganda has enjoyed some relative peace and vast amont of economicand socio development, the war in the north sinec it inception in 1986 has dragged on too long into the present conflict of UPDF/LRA and has left many pipos destablised and unable to be in their homes and unable to do their work peacefully as the rest of their country men are doing in the rest of Uganda.

And now more and more, the top political and military  leaders must work hand in hand with the religious leaders and the cuktural leaders of northern Uganda to help end the LRA rebellion there and  help settle the pipo away from the IDP =  the Internally Displaced People camps and provide the much neeeded security in order for the families to move back to their homes and land and be able to  do agriculture and other projects on their land. And now the isue of some top leaders  grabbing the land of the northerners for big projects has come out as a hot political issue recently and it looks like its a time bom that is about to exploded as soon as the we come to the end of the UPDF/LRA war

Ugandans must wake up to accept that Uganda is one  and that east or west, north or south , we all must work for a united Uganda without leaving other areas to suffer like that for so long. Imagine the kids who were born on the  streets of Gulu  during  those night commutes away from the home? Thos kids born in 1986 are now 20 years old and some of them have becme mothers and das by the age of 18 due to the hard time s of the war in the north --- but withou a home for 20 yrs? and now where do they go ? and how do they star a family and run it?

The world must wake up and come to the plight of the pipo in northern Uganda. We cannot say tha leave the north to solve it own problems. yes they top are Ugandans and we need each other for national development of the natural , human, political, economic, socio-cultural and religious resources. Some thing must be done about Northern Uganda.

GULU TO BECOME CITY BY 2010 ?

    admin:

And now as there is some relative calm in the north and as there is hope that the LRA/UPDF war might be coming to an end,  I hear that there is some progress and business is booming again in Lira and Gulu. And guess what? yes its Gulu working hard to become the city within the next three years.

Oh what an idea ? It must be a cause of rejoicing and thanking God for the progress in the north

Road to Peace in Northern Uganda

    admin:

    The question still stands:

IS THERE A NEW ROAD TO PEACE IN NORTHERN UGANDA?

1-  There is talk of many

     pipo returning to their homes

and leaving the Camps of the Internally Displaced People. Haa, but there is still a fear among the natives that the LRA may strike again at a time least expected

      http://www.sundayvision.co.ug/detail.php?mainNewsCategoryId=7&newsCategoryId=132&newsId=567286

    2- Can you imagine that

some pipo have been born in those camps and are now grown up pipo?

Oh then this war must have taken so long and muast have affected so much the pipo of the area. there is need to adress the issue of Peace in Northern Uganda.

Road to Peace in Northern Uganda

    admin:

Since I wrote my Tiica Blog on the proposal to have the cultural leaders like Omukama Iguru  to help as Peace Negotiator in the Northern Uganda Crisis, Iam now seeing that some progress has been made thru the different Acholi and Langi cultural and religiuos leaders to talk with Sudan and Uganda and LRA of Kony

But for the Uganda government, the view is as follows now

WE WON'T LIFT KONY ARREST YET - says MUSEVENI

About this Kony issues; I am one of the fellows who is still indifferent about it all (publicly). maybe you brothers and sisters here can help me take a stand…

on one hand Kony deserves justice and on the other he won’t stop killing innocent people until he is forgiven, government has always promised “us” to get ‘em but has miserably failed…

so should he be forgiven or should we keep listening to “our” government…

Olara Otunu for President of Uganda - 2011?

I thought that it was along way to the next Presidentail elections of Uganda. But now after taking acloseer look at the politics of Uganda it seems that thepresidential campains of 2011 are going to be the toughestand most exciting as we are beginning to see new faces on the stage of Uganda politics and the arrival of multiparty politics bringing in a big challenge to the ruling NRM party that has led the nation for years .

the hot news around is that

                 OLARA OTUNU

                                  is soon back in Uganda

                                                            and is set for presidency

                                                                                       of Uganda come 2011

SUCCESS to all candidates planning to join the race for 2011 presidential elections.....  I thought it was too early to wish them succes but then I realized that these candidates seem serious on the saying that : ITS THE EARLY BIRD THAT CATCHES A fattened  WORM.!!!

Re: Road to Peace in Northern Uganda

THE POLITICAL  ROOT CAUSES OF THE UGANDA / LRA CONFLICT IS NO SECREET :  IS A  POWER CONTROL STRUGGLE  IN UGANDA BY DIFFERENT FACTIONS ( TRBES IN UGANDA SINCE FROM COLONIAL RULE ) .
    N. B :-  Below writing is already writen on general forums

It was on Tuesday , December 27 , 1985 a Peace Pact Agreement which was reportedly aimed to put an end to the Internal confrontations in Uganda . and was said to have been signed in the Kenyan capital , Nairobi . The Agreement was reported to have been a Peace Agreement for Uganda . It was therefore to have been called the Uganda Peace Pact Package or the Uganda Peace Agreement of 1985 or simply the Nairobi Agreement of 1985 . The text meaning of the so called Uganda Peace Pact / Ageement already had indications available that could enble to formulate broad views on it .

The problem of Uganda is one of Identity crisis , Legitimacy crisis and the issue of Sovereignty , which is still held by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland .

In realiity , the so - called Uganda Peace Agreement of 1985 was an Agreement between the Luo / Nilotic people , on the one hand , and the
Bantu people , on the other hand , both the Luo / Nilotic people and the Bantu people being from the East Nile / Uganda .

Properly stating , the so - called Uganda Peace Agreement of 1985 was a Luo - Bantu Peace Agreement for the East Nile / Uganda .

The Luo interests were represented by Acholi people and the Bantu interests by Ankole people . Lieut - General Tito Okello , an Acholi heading the Luo interests and Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni , a Muhima from Ankole heading the Bantu interests . Both signed the Agreement .

In short , the so - called Uganda Peace Agreement of 1985 was a Re - Unification of the fighting forces of the Uganda National Liberation Army ( UNLA ), which was the Military of the Uganda National Liberation Front ( UNLF ), formed during the Moshi Agreement of March ,1979 ,in Tanzania without any member representative from West Nile / Lado . .In fact the presence of Col . Wilson  Gad  Toko  , a Lugbari  by tribe from West Nile /  Lado as  the Vice President of Uganda in the short period of President Tito Okello 's  Administration so much infuriated Yoweri Museveni . Lado people are unwanted people in the Uganda Politics as was Agreed in the Moshi Conference , in Tanzania . Tito Okello was overthrown for this reason .

To undrestand this , a brief background History of events are needed to clarify the present - day situation of clouds hanging out here over the so - called Uganda Peace Pact Agreements of Nairobi 1985 and the today 's transformed as another Peace Pact Agreement to be reached in the Juba Talks .( Replication of the Nairobi Peace pacts going on in Juba on Ladoland now .) The only difference being in the fact that the discussions today are being carried out on the the piece Land of Lado but not in Kenya or in the Sudan State .The world is being deceived that there is already an existing State in AFRICA - a so called - Southern Sudan State with a full recognised Governament in function . A fiction name to replace the Kingdom / State of Lado by the Occupants .
It must be clear on the minds of the people of this World that the Government in Exile of the State / Kingdom of Lado has no role - play in these Peace Agreements of Uganda Orchestrated Peace pacts neither before in Narroibi nor in the present forms going on in Juba . The hopes of Lado People is to see that as a Neighbouring State , Uganda does accept to resettle the Acholi -  Nilotic people in their rightful homeland in East Nile / Uganda and fully to participate in the politics of Uganda .

Re: Road to Peace in Northern Uganda

I HERE LRA WANTS TO APPOINT ME THEIR PEACE BROKER BECAUSE MY LATE DAD IN THE 1960S WAS THE MOST SENIOR POLITICAL LEADER IN ACHOLI WITH DIPLOMATIC TIES TO OTHER DISTRICTS ALSO WAS A CLOSE FRIEND TO THE KABAKA AND FORMER VICE PRESIDENT BABIA OF ANKOLE AND I WAS THE ONE WHO PROPOSED THE PEACE ALTERNATIVE TO THE LRA FROM WAR MONGERING.

THEY HAVE YET APPOINTED SOMEBODY I KNOW WITH A SIMILAR NAME AS MINE AND ITHINK HE MAY SOON BE KICKED OUT LIKE MATSANGA AND DR. OBITA.

MATSANGA NOW DRIVING A VERY EXECUTIVE LAND CRUISER IN LONDON FROM PEACE TALK MONEY.

IF THEY APPOINT ME I WOULD FIRST ASK THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA TO STOP REVENGEFUL BEHAVIUOR.

VERIFY+ACCEPT ME AS INNOCENT ONLY A MEDIATOR.
