The topic for weather is threatening to burn holes in the tongues of people here. The snow fell for just one day in my area chosing other parts of UK to bestow it's prowes. However this one takes the prize.
Talking to a friend he imparted something that made me laugh at the innocent acts of children. Apparently the child was travelling along with his au pair on public means when he made a statement that 'snow is racist'. Now as you can imagine the scene whereupon all persons on the bus stopped midstream to what they were doing to await to hear what the au pair's response was going to be - let alone as to what prompted such a mind as young as that to state that. The beauty of children as always is their ability to state what we as adults find hard to do for fear of offending those around us, but I must say, this kid's parents of whom it was revealed later on by the ensuing conversation, must have had REAL issues with race!
Whilst I was cursing the reasons I had to leave the warmth of my home to head out to the office, my young one's happiness at the onslaught of the snow was to rejoice way up on learning it had snowed. Indeed the act of this change in weather made a much better alarm and motivation for her getting up for school. Little did I know my gogolo days were about to come back to haunt me in her planned actions for the day...
